Pivoting the Generation

WHY?

By the time I graduate from college, there will be careers that do not yet exist, requiring skills we cannot fully anticipate. The defining skill for Generation Z and Generation Alpha is the ability to pivot. Preparing for that future means building strong foundations now, learning essential skills, and applying knowledge across changing contexts.

WHAT?

Economics is one of the most important subjects shaping our world. To spark interest in my generation, I turned a serious topic into bite-sized, educational videos and reached my peers where they already are - on TikTok. On my channel, A Bite of Economics, I explain core economic principles while trying different foods, making complex ideas more accessible and engaging.

Financial literacy is another core subject that directly impacts long-term independence and opportunity. To encourage my generation to engage with it more deeply, I created a board game that simplifies key concepts and makes financial knowledge more accessible to everyone. The game format brings young people together offline, encouraging real-world interaction while they learn practical skills in a socially connected environment.

Big Ideas, Real Impact.

Mathematics on Social Media

At the foundation of economics and finance is mathematics. To support others in mastering this essential skill, I created a Quora account where I explain a wide range of math problems in clear, accessible ways. Over the past six years, beginning in sixth grade, I have consistently contributed, accumulating more than two million views and over ten thousand answers.

Creativity to elevate what matters most.

In the age of advancing AI, creativity will take on increased significance. As machine-generated content becomes abundant, human expression will become rarer and therefore more valuable. To cultivate that dimension of thinking, I practice ceramics as a hobby. Working with clay allows me to develop originality, patience, and creative discipline.

Connecting the Generations

In the photo, you can see the four generations of my family, all of whom I have taught my Gen Z traditions. I lead a group of high school students partnering with local senior centers to build intergenerational connections through technology. We teach seniors how to use tools such as ChatGPT, help them digitize photographs, and use AI to organize and preserve their life stories. Through this process, we combine technology with human connection, strengthening relationships across generations.
